Scoliosis is a condition when a person’s spinal cord or backbone gets curved to the side. Doctors usually refer to the alphabets ‘’C’’ and ‘’S’’ for describing the curve of the backbone. Scoliosis signs are evident when a person is standing in a certain way, leaning or their hips or shoulders are looking uneven.

The causes of scoliosis are cerebral plasty, muscular dystrophy, infections, tumours, birth defects, and other genetic conditions like Down syndrome and Marfan syndrome.

Scoliosis is best described as curvature of the spine. Scoliosis treatment includes casting to help an infant’s spine to be back into a normal position, bracing for preventing further curvature, spinal fusion that reduces curves and prevents it from getting worse.

If scoliosis becomes worse, then the patient may suffer from back pain. Also, if the victim’s chest becomes deformed due to scoliosis then that may affect heart and lungs. This will eventually lead to fatigue, heart failure and breathing problems.
