The Hornbill Festival plays a crucial role in reviving and sustaining Naga cultural identity, especially among the youth. It has also become a major attraction for international tourists.
The Hornbill Festival named after Hornbill bird which holds a significant place in Naga folklore and rituals, this is a spectacular cultural extravaganza held annually in the northeastern state of Nagaland at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, near the capital city Kohima, the festival showcases the rich traditions, customs, and heritage of the major Naga tribes and several sub-tribes of the region.
The artists from various tribes performs their traditional dance and music with tribal attire and headgear,Wrestling, archery, and other indigenous games are also part of celebrations. One will also have a chance to buy Handicrafts and artisan exhibits as souvenirs and can also taste the Naga cuisine and local rice beet
