Arrival at Guwahati airport and transfer to Shillong (120 km / 3 hrs). Check into hotel on arrival. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee (56 km / 2 hr), which is the wettest place in the world and visit the Thangkharang Park (from where one can see the plains of Bangladesh), Mawsmai cave and Nohkalikai fall.
Cherrapunjee, locally and officially known as Sohra, is 56 kms from Shillong, and a “must see” destination for all tourists. Apart from being the record holder for the heaviest rainfall, it was the headquarters of the Khasi/Jaintia province during British rule which was however shifted to Shillong in 1864, due to the inconvenience caused by excessive rain during the monsoon months. The average rainfall is 12,000 mm a year and the record for a single day was 2455 mm recorded in 1974 confirming it as the “Wettest place on Earth”. Overnight at hotel.
This day transfer to Tezpur in Assam (240 km / 5½ hrs), just on the north bank of mighty river Brahmaputra. Afternoon walk around the local market. Overnight at hotel.
Today drive to Ziro (320 km / 7 hrs), in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Ziro is home to the Apatani tribes and it is located in an extremely picturesque valley called Apatani Plateau surrounded by pine-covered mountains. The Apatani tribes themselves are Ziro’s greatest attraction. The older men-folk tie the hair in top-knots and tattoo the faces. Apatani women wear wooden nose plugs and tattooed their faces. However, new generation of Apatani men and women have stopped this practice of tying hair knot, nose plugs and face tattooing since early 1970s. The Apatani are good cultivators and practice both wet and terrace cultivation. Paddy cum fish culture is very popular among them. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast drive to Majuli island (160 km / 6 hrs), in river Brahmaputra, supposed to be largest fresh water inhabited island. Majuli is a mixing pot of cultures, art and ethnicity. There are villages of Mishing tribe, monasteries of Neo-Vaishnavism practicing art and craft etc. Overnight at hotel.
Explore Majuli. Visit potters’ village, mask making, Vaishnavite monastery, Mishing tribal village. Overnight at hotel.
After an early breakfast drive to ferry point to cross river Bragmaputra by motorized country boat. This crossing would take about 2 hrs. Once across drive to Mon (180 km / 6 hrs) in the state of Nagaland. Mon is the home for Konyak naga tribe, famous for their head hunting practice and tattoo. Overnight at hotel.
Today visit Longwa village, 42 km, situated on the border ridge between India and Myanmar. Overnight at hotel.
Today morning visit Hongphui village and in the afternoon spend some time in the market area. Overnight at hotel.
Today drive back to Jorhat (165 km / 5½ hrs). On the way visit Siva Doul, a temple dedicated to lord Shiva built in 1734 AD. Overnight at hotel.
Today we will re-enter Nagaland at the place Dimapur and drive towards Kohima (244 km / 6 hrs). Kohima is situated at an elevation of about 1400 meters and home of Angami tribe. And also this is the place where Japanese advance finally stopped during WWII. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast drive to Khonoma village (22 km / 1 hr), walk around the village to get to know about their lifestyle. Afternoon visit Kigwema village. Overnight at hotel.
Today after breakfast transfer to Imphal (140 km / 4 hrs). PM visit Kangla fort which was opened to visitors only in the year 2004. This fort is the ancient capital of Manipur. From the ancient times down till the y ear 1891, the Kangla fort is regarded as the most important historical and archeological site of Manipur. Regarded as the holiest place for the Manipuri’s faith. It is also one of the most popular centre of pilgrimage for all the Manipuri’s residing in Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Bangladesh and Myanmar etc.

Morning go for a day trip to Andro Cultural Village. Visit the Cultural Heritage Complex. Here the practice of fire worshipping is still continued in the temple of Panam Ningthou. It is prepared in turn by every house-hold member of the village.
The community of Andro has occupied a major portion in the map of traditional pot making culture. They still preserve the traditional rituals and norms relating to the process of pot making. Moreover, the villagers are nature loving people and always maintain a good relation with nature to keep a pollution free ecosystem. In brief, we can call the village as the living heritage village. Interact with the villagers and see pottery making. Return to Imphal. Afternoon visit the local pony farm to witness the traditional polo of Manipur and also to witness the demonstration of Arambai Hunba. Overnight at hotel.

I want to thank the company "Minar travel" for the great organized tour of the Golden Triangle! All hotels on the tour were great, transportation is very convenient and comfortable! We had a very nice trip and we enjoyed of what the company arranged for us. The sightseeining of city and shopping all Minar guiders were kind and warm & sympathies like most Indian people that are met during last week. The driver that took us to Agra and Delhi also had Very patience. We are thankful of every thing. We were going to miss India and hope to come back again. I want to thank you for arranging our norooz tour on the behalf of all group. We had a very good start at the airport, our hotel on Cochin was very good and had beautiful garden & nice pool. We enjoyed the city tour & water fall and loved folk dance. Our driver and his aid & our tour leader were very helpful & nice people. I believe Zuri hotel is the best hotel that we visited in this trip and also house boat tour was really good. Leela hotel was realy the high end hotel in kerala with nice view and pool and the room also was excellent with arabian see view . We all realy enjoy our visit elephant camp& jungle. Again we end our trip to india with great memories!
