When you come to Delhi, our Representative will receive you and take you to hotel for overnight stay
Arrive at the airport in the morning, and board a flight bound for Bagdogra.
On landing at Bagdogra you will be taken to Darjeeling straightaway, which is 80 kilometers away, and you will check into your hotel.
Darjeeling: Located 2134 meters above sea level, Darjeeling faces the Himalayan mountain range prevailed by Mount Kanchenjunga. This hill station served the British as a summer resort after it was seized by them way back in 1835. The picturesque town has cottages, bungalows and manors reminiscent of that era, and there are still flower gardens of reflecting that British essence, to be found all over. It was in the year 1840 that tea plantations came up here for the first time, and the climatic conditions were ideal for the varied beds of tea plantations. A narrow-gauge train, popularly still referred to as “Toy Train”, was commissioned in 1881 and has been serving the town ever since. Since that time, this popular hill station has had much of its culture reflecting English traditions and customs.
In the afternoon, take an easy stroll on “The Mall”, which is the main avenue located in the middle of the town. What you find is a string of tea stalls, cafes and tiny shops selling souvenirs lining the mall on either side. Walk along the mall and arrive at “Chowrasta”, the popular square that consists of a book and music store, which sells rare magazines and books on Tibet and India, many of them dating back to hundreds years ago. Return to hotel and have an overnight stay.
In the early morning, it’s zooming in to Tiger Hill – which lies 10 kilometers to the south of the hill station. The place is thronged by thousands of visitors to get an amazing view of the Kanchenjunga during sunrise. On bright days, you can see the whole chain of mountains. There are the “Pandim” and “Kabru” peaks on either side of Mt. Kanchenjunga, which lies in the middle. There are the famous three sisters, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu, to the right. There are Tibetan peaks located to the east, some distance away.
In the morning, go to the Railway Station and enjoy a ride on Toy Train. A Toy Train ride helps you to enjoy a spectacular view of the landscape as well as the awesome peaks of the Himalayan mountain range. Spend the afternoon in leisurely activities. Enjoy overnight stay at your hotel.
In the morning, go to Pemayangste which is 2 hours of driving distance away. On arriving at Pemayangste, check into your own hotel!
For all the monastery lovers, here is good news1 Situated at a height of 2085 meters above sea level, Pemayangste is the most important as well as the second oldest monastery in the state of Sikkim. There are invaluable scriptures and many ancient scriptures in this monastery. In the palace known as Sangthokpalri, you can also come across a lovely sculpture made of wood. Have an overnight stay at hotel.
In the morning, enjoy speeding down to Gangtok along a beautiful route with the view of magnificent hills on either side with vast stretches of tea plantations, the lovely TistaRiver and smiling local men and women. Gangtok blankets a hillside, and serves as the capital city of the state of Sikkim. It faces directly the mountainous range of Kanchenjunga. Spend the remaining day in leisurely activities and enjoy an overnight stay at hotel.
In the morning, visit the Rumtek Monastery – which is a driving distance away. The monastery serves as the fundament of the head of Buddhist Kagyapa, the gyalway Karmapa, and it was constructed by him at a time when he was given refuge in the state of Sikkim. There are some primitive icons and manuscripts, as well as one-of-a-kind artifacts in Rumtek. Check out the Institute of Tibetology, that is famous for its collection of priceless “Thanka” crafts. There is also the Orchid Sanctuary, a beautiful botanical garden that consists of as many as 500 forms of precious orchids. Enjoy an overnight stay at hotel.
It will be zooming in to Kalimpong in the morning. On arrival, rest at your hotel.
A small hill station, Kalimpong offers beautiful views to its visitors. There are the amazing Durbindara Hills to its south. To its north, there are the Deola hills. On bright days, you can see the majestic peaks of Kanchenjunga and the plains of Terai valley in Nepal.
You can visit the beautiful Buddhist monastery known as TirpaiCholing, located at Tirpai. It belongs to the sect known as Gelug or Yellow Hat. There is another wonderful Buddhist monastery at another end of Kalimpong, which is the Zang dog PalrifoBrang located on the Dubindera Hill. This monastery serves as an exact copy of a celestial borten, which was demolished in Lhasa by the Chinese people. Its replica was constructed in 2 years of time by the Lamas.
Following your visit, return to hotel and have an overnight stay.
In the morning, go to the Bagdogra airport – which is located 79 kilometers away – and board a flight for Delhi. Upon arriving at Delhi, take another flight for your destination ahead.
