Arrive Kolkata. Met by our representative upon arrival and transferred to the hotel. Kolkata is one of largest cities of India with a very rich history and culture heritage. It is considered to be the cultural capital of India, ‘City of Joy’ as Dominique Lapierre chose to call it. It has served as British capital for a good 200 yrs. Today it is a nice blend of colonial and ethnic heritage.

Morning proceed on a full day sightseeing tour of Kolkata visiting Victoria Memorial – built in the memory of Queen Victoria, this marble structure today houses an impressive museum with collection of some eye-catching water colour paintings of Indian landscapes and buildings, artefacts, manuscripts etc. Drive through Maidan to visit colonial government buildings at Dalhousie Square. Howrah Bridge that spans over the Hooghly River to links the city of Howrah to its twin sister Kolkata is counted amongst the busiest cantilever bridge in the world observing a daily traffic load of about 60,000 vehicles and innumerable pedestrians. Constructed in 1939 it had two portions which would unfasten everyday, particularly during night for steamers, boats and other aquatic vehicles to ply. Kalighat the famous ancient Kali Temple of Kolkata where sacrifice is still practiced – it is also believed that name Kolkata has been derived from this place and Normal Hriday or Mother Teresa’s charity home.

Morning transfer to airport to board the flight for Bagdogra. Arrive Bagdogra and met by our representative upon arrival and transfer to Darjeeling. Arrive Darjeeling and check in at hotel with rest of the day at leisure or free for optional activities. One of the most beautiful hill stations in India, Darjeeling is home to the famous Darjeeling Tea that has charmed the world. Nestled on the lap of eastern Himalayas Darjeeling has been blessed with nature’s bounty. Breathing taking view of the Mt. Kanchenjunga is omnipresent in Darjeeling. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning visit some of sites of tourist interest – Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center: started on 1959 to rehabilitate thousands of Tibetans who fled Tibet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama to India following Chinese invasion. Started from 04 workers today it has over 700 workers producing traditional handicrafts such as Tibetan carpets, wood, metal and leather works, the Centre has also experimented in finding new production lines incorporating traditional Tibetan motifs which would find a ready market both in India and abroad. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Everest Museum – first ascent on the Mount Everest has provided the impetus to mountaineering as an organized sport in India and HMI came into being as a result. Ace mountaineers are associated with this institute including Tenzing Norgay (the first man to climb Mt. Everest with sir Edmond Hillary) as the first Director of Field Training. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park: A unique zoo in the country this is the only zoo in the world to breed Tibetan Wolf in captivity and the first South Asian Zoo to breed Snow Leopard and Siberian Tiger. It is the only specialized zoo in the country and is internationally recognized because of conservation breeding of Snow Leopard and Red Panda.
Afternoon take a toy train “A World Heritage Site” ride to Ghoom, one of the highest railway stations in the world for steam locomotives. Also, visit Ghoom Monastery said to be built in 1875 by Lama Sherab Gyatso from Chumbi valley in Tibet and is considered to be one of the holiest monasteries as this was personally blessed by the renowned Tomo Geshe Rimpoche of Tibet. It is also said that the monastery keeps rare books on Buddhism. The monastery has a statue of the ‘Maitreye Buddha’ believed to be the coming Buddha. Overnight at Hotel.
Early morning drive to Tiger Hill to witness a spectacular sunrise. A sunrise view from Tiger Hill on a clear day is an experience which one would like to cherish forever. The whole of Kanchenjunga range performs an amazing colour display along with the changing lights of the rising sun. One can also see summit of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Lotse from here (four of the 8000 Mts. Peaks including first and the third highest peaks). Rest of the day at leisure to explore Darjeeling at your own pace. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning depart Darjeeling for Gangtok. This is one the most picturesque journey where one drives through undulating lush green landscape through hills and tea gardens and along the river Teesta on the last leg of the journey. Arrive Gangtok and check in at hotel. Gangtok the capital of Sikkim is a small hill state in the Eastern Himalaya on the Indo-China border. Gangtok is thenerve centre of political and commercial activities. Situated on the lap of Mt.Kanchenjunga the third highest mountain in the world, Sikkim is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Omni present view of the mountains, picturesque landscape dotted with colorful Buddhist monasteries, smiling faces is what welcomes you to this place. Afternoon explore the place on your own.

Morning proceed on a full day sightseeing tour of Gangtok visiting Rumtek monastery or Rumtek Dharma Chakra – the seat of His Holiness Karmapa head of the Kagyu order which is one of the four major Tibetan Buddhist sects. Traditional in design, it is almost the replica of the original Kagyu headquarters in Tibet. The centre has a collection of some of the most unique religious art objects. Enchey Monastery – this 200 years old monastery is one of the important seats of Nyingmapa sect blessed by Lama Druptob Karpo a trantic master famous for his flying power. Research Institute of Tibetology – center for studying Buddhist philosophy and religion this institute is a treasure trove of vast collection of rare Lepcha, Tibetan and Sanskrit manuscripts, statues and rare Thankas and has over 200 Buddhist icons. Also, walk around the local market. Overnight at Hotel.
Morning depart on a day return excursion to Tsongmo Lake. Situated at an altitude of 12400 ft. Tsongmo a snow fed lake is definitely an interesting place to visit. A 40 Km (one way) drive from Gangtok takes you this scenic high altitude lake which is nestled in the middle of the mountains.
The cool serene water complements the surreal environ of the locale. Reflection of surrounding mountains in the pristine water of the lake, walls dotted with ground flowers, yaks grazing around the lake are some of the common sights around here. Return to Gangtok by afternoon with rest of the day at leisure.

Morning transfer to Bagdogra airport to board the flight for Kolkata. Arrive Kolkata and transfer to international airport to board the flight for onward destination.
Our trip to South India was fabulous. The beautiful temples and serene beaches were enchanting. We will never be able to forget such a warm welcome from your company. I want to thank the company "Minar travel" for the great organized tour of the Golden Triangle! All hotels on the tour were great, transportation is very convenient and comfortable! The organization of the tour was at the highest level, starting with a meeting at the airport and checking into the hotel and ending with the landing on the flight to Goa at the end of the tour. We had a very nice trip and we enjoyed of what the company arranged for us. The sightseeining of city and shopping all Minar guiders were kind and warm & sympathies like most Indian people that are met during last week. The driver that took us to Agra and Delhi also had Very patience. We are thankful of every thing. We were going to miss India and hope to come back again. I want to thank you for arranging our norooz tour on the behalf of all group. We had a very good start at the airport, our hotel on Cochin was very good and had beautiful garden & nice pool. We enjoyed the city tour & water fall and loved folk dance. Our driver and his aid & our tour leader were very helpful & nice people. I believe Zuri hotel is the best hotel that we visited in this trip and also house boat tour was really good. Leela hotel was realy the high end hotel in kerala with nice view and pool and the room also was excellent with arabian see view . We all realy enjoy our visit elephant camp& jungle. Again we end our trip to india with great memories!
