Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), in combination with in vitro fertilization (IVF), is a highly effective treatment used to solve male infertility problems. Some of these problems include low sperm count, low sperm motility and structural defects in sperms.

All of these reasons may be a big reason behind the inability of the couples to conceive. However, the advancement in technology has led to the development of ICSI technique, in which highly mobile sperms are made to fuse with the egg and form a healthy zygote.

During a typical ICSI process, a healthy sperm is taken in a sperm needle and is directly injected into the egg cytoplasm or nuclei during the IVF procedure. This makes sure that fertilization does take place, that too with a healthy sperm.

ICSI IVF is now a commonly performed procedure, conducted in different infertility clinics and hospitals by fertility specialists. ICSI IVF cost depends on the total number of cycles conducted during the treatment. ICSI cost is always in addition to IVF cost, although the hospital may offer a joint package.
